For more than 60 years, the Padernacht family has lived in the district. Daniel’s grandfather, Sydney Padernacht, was a member of Local 32BJ and his father and uncles attended Dewitt Clinton High School in the Bronx. His father, Howard Padernacht, lived and worked in the community until his death in 2009. His mother, Pamela Padernacht, is a teacher in the district.
Daniel Padernacht was born in Einstein Hospital in the Bronx in 1976. Along with his two brothers, he was raised in Kingsbridge and attended P.S. 95, J.H.S. 143 and Fordham Preparatory School. Dan played for the Kingsbridge Little League and he was a member of Boy Scout Troop 239 which held its weekly meetings at VFW Post 95 in the Van Cortlandt Village Section of the Bronx.
Mr. Padernacht has a degree in Economics from Fairfield University and is a graduate of The John Marshall Law School. During law school, Dan was a member of two Honors Councils and represented the United States in an International Negotiation Competition which took place in Singapore. There, Padernacht competed against the best law student negotiators from around the world. After law school, Padernacht opened his law office in the neighborhood he knew best—Kingsbridge—in order to serve the people that make it a vibrant and thriving community.
As a general practice attorney, Mr. Padernacht deals with many legal issues that affect families. Even though he is a solo practitioner, Mr. Padernacht devotes time to pro bono legal work.
As a member of the community, Mr. Padernacht works alongside his neighbors to assist in events that benefit our community. Mr. Padernacht is a volunteer on the Promotion Committee for Riverdale Riverfest 2010, a family festival to support a Bronx Greenway along the Hudson River.
The Padernacht family continues to live and work in the same neighborhood they have been for more than 60 years. Daniel Padernacht is from this community and he is for this community.
